New Studio

I Did It

My studio has been based at Wimbledon Art Studios now for over 10 years. When I first arrived I had a studio at the rear of the building a tiny little thing so small it fit 1 1/2 desk in it. I loved it.

The studios expanded and that studio is now the disabled toilets!! I’ll elaborate more on that another time.

Over the past 6 weeks, I have expanded my studio HURRAY!!! I go to a stage where it became difficult for me to function to my best capacity. So I made a big decision when my neighbour moved out to knock through and increase my studio space.

I prepared myself for a 2-week project which ended up being 5 weeks and it’s still not totally finished. I had to unpack my storage in order to move it and install some new storage and workspace. Most importantly get a plan chest, 2-meter (2) desk it to my studio on the first floor without a lift, all by myself.

It’s totally fine because now have the space that I need to make the work that I have been longing to make with designated but flexible working spaces.

Whilst I was waiting for the wall to be removed, I had to unpack my storage, move it so that I could unscrew and remove the plasterboard and then wait for the all the electrical wires to be moved and reconnected.

A group of artists have gotten to gather and we will be having Open Studios 26/27 June, and I plan to have this all finished by then. 👀 Keep everything crossed for me.
